General Information

Northwest A&F University (abbr. NWAFU) is a key national comprehensive university directly administrated by the Ministry of Education. As one of the leading universities in China, NWAFU is supported by the Ministry of Education’s ‘Project 985’ and ‘Project 211’. NWAFU is the only agricultural university equipped with disciplines of agriculture, forestry, and water science. Currently there are all together 23 colleges (departments, institutions) and Graduate School. NWAFU has developed distinguished features and priorities in researches of Animal and Plant Breeding, Plant Protection, Agricultural Biology Technology, Agriculture and Irrigation Technology in Dry Areas, and Comprehensive Treatment to Water and Soil Loss in China’s Loess Plateau, which makes the University a significant institution for high-level agricultural talents training, scientific research, and achievement transformation. Geographic Location

NWAFU is located in Yangling, Shaanxi – the birthplace of Chinese agricultural civilization and today’s agriculture science town. Over 4,000 years ago, Hou Ji, the first ancestor in Chinese farming civilization, led the people to farm and plant. Nowadays Yang Ling is the only national agriculture high-tech industrial demonstration zone.

Transportation

NWAFU is 80 kilometers away from Xi’an – the world famous historic and cultural city, and 70 kilometers away from Xi’an Xianyang International Airport. Longhai Railway and Xi’an-Baoji Highway go through the town, which greatly facilitate the transportation.

    一、Talent Recruitment Plan

Recruitment Eligibility

1.Exceptional Talent  The position requires full-time work on campus. Candidate is supposed to obtain professorship or equivalent level in world’s renowned universities (scientific research institutions).

2.Distinguished Professor  The position requires full-time work on campus. Candidate is supposed to be under 45 years old (candidate of humanities & social science is supposed to be under 50 years old) and obtain assistant professorship or higher position in world’s renowned universities.

3.Chair Professor  The position is of short-term employment. During employment, chair professor should guarantee at least two months’ work on campus each year, with one-month duration each time.

4.Academic Team  The academic team is supposed to be led by professor or talent of equivalent level in world’s renowned universities (scientific research institutions); key members in the team are supposed to have reasonable age and specialty structure.

Relevant Treatment

1.Exceptional Talent  Employee will be granted Level-2 lectureship or above. Scientific research funds are available – natural science disciplines RMB 5~20 million, and humanities & social science disciplines RMB 1.5~2 million – special needs can be further negotiated. Wage agreement will be applied during employment term with annual salary of RMB 0.6~1.2 million (before tax); a 300 m2 apartment whose property right will belong to the employee after 10 years’ employment, RMB 0.5 million settlement allowance, assistance of research team development and recruitment, and spouse job placement will also be arranged.

2.Distinguished Professor  Employee will be granted Level-3 professorship. RMB 3~6 million funds and RMB 1~2 million funds will be available for natural science research and humanities & social science research respectively. Wage agreement will be applied during employment term with annual salary of RMB 0.4~0.8 million (before tax); a 170 m2 or larger apartment whose property right will belong to the employee after 10 years’ employment, RMB 0.4 million settlement allowance, and spouse job placement will also be arranged.

3.Chair Professor  Employee’s research condition will be included into NWAFU’s partner research platform. Each year RMB 0.1~0.4 million funds will be provided for on-campus working and travelling; RMB 1,000~3,000 (before tax) will be subsidized every day per working day count; during the time working on campus, employee will be provided with a free apartment.

4.Academic Team  Sufficient funds for scientific research and platform construction will be provided per actual needs and team size. Within university authorization, team leader enjoys academy-specified funds and personnel liberties; the team can independently recruit project leader and key staff per NWAFU’s approved position count; other treatments can be further negotiated per actual needs.

    二、Young Talent Recruitment Plan

Recruitment Eligibility

1000-talents Plan  Applicant should be under 40 years old, and is supposed to obtain doctoral degree from world’s renowned universities with at least three years’ overseas scientific research experience. The position requires full time working on campus.

1.Exceptional Talents  Applicant should be under 40 years old, and is supposed to obtain doctoral degree from world’s renowned universities. Applicant is expected to have at least three years’ overseas scientific research experience, and have outstanding achievements or innovative ideas within relevant research discipline. The position requires full time working on campus.

2.Elite Young Talents  Applicant should be under 35 years old in principle, and is supposed to obtain post-doctoral degree from world’s renowned universities, or excellent doctoral degree with outstanding research achievements. Applicant is expected to have outstanding achievements or innovative ideas within relevant research discipline. The position requires full time working on campus.

Relevant Treatment

1000-talents Plan  Employee will be granted Level 3/Level 4 professorship and enjoy highly competitive salary of annual wage RMB 0.3~0.6 million. On top of national RMB 1~3 million research funds, NWAFU will offer RMB 1~3 million funds. NWAFU will also provide 170 m2 or larger apartment whose property right will belong to the employee after 10 years’ employment. Employee’s spouse will also be arranged with a job.

1.Exceptional Young Talents  Employee will be granted professorship. Natural science researchers will be provided with RMB 1~2 million research funds; humanities & social science researchers will be provided with RMB 0.5~1 million funds. NWAFU will also provide RMB 20,000 settlement allowance and a 140 m2 apartment whose property right will belong to the employee after 10 years’ employment. Employee will also enjoy an annual subsidy of RMB 50,000. Wage agreement can be negotiated per actual situation. Spouse job placement and children schooling will also be arranged.

2.Elite Young Talents  Employee will be granted professorship or assistant professorship. Natural science researchers will be provided with RMB 0.3~1 million research funds; humanities & social science researchers will be provided with RMB 0.2~0.5 million funds. The university will also provide RMB 10,000 settlement allowance and a 140 m2 apartment whose property right will belong to the employee after 10 years’ employment. Employee will also enjoy an annual subsidy of RMB 30,000. Wage agreement can be negotiated per actual situation. Spouse job placement and children schooling will also be arranged.

(7). ‘Distinguished Professor’ and ‘Young Talent Recruitment Plan’ applicant should provide 3 recommendation letters from experts in the relevant fields

2. Preliminary Examination

For applicant of ‘Exceptional Talents’ and ‘1000-talent Plan’ who passes preliminary examination, NWAFU will cover the international travelling expense for 1 opportunity of inspection and exchange. NWAFU will also assist with applicant’s further application.

For applicant of ‘Distinguished Professor’, ‘Exceptional Young Talent’, and ‘Elite Young Talents’ who passes preliminary examination, NWAFU will send out interview invitation. Applicants can bring their relatives to NWAFU so as to have a better campus inspection experience, recommendation during which time will be covered by NWAFU.
